Getting started

General instructions on how to get started with mobile development at Liana

Accounts

You need at least these accounts while working for us at Liana Mobile:

  1. Liana Tech accounts (LDAP, email & intranet)
    • You should have received these:
      • LDAP username & password
      • email address
    • Logging into the intranet happens using your full email address as the username
    • Logging to your email happens using the “firstname.lastname” part of your email address and the LDAP password. Check the Liana Tech intranet for email server settings.
    • Don’t ask me why there are 3 or more ways of logging in with the same credentials. I do not know.
    • If you need to change your LDAP / email password, do it here
  2. A google account
    • We use Google Drive and other Google Apps for sharing information
    • You need a Google acc to manage stuff in the Play Store admin
    • Register your own google account (preferably one for just work and tied to your lianatech email address)
  3. An Apple ID
    • You need this for iOS development and / or testing
    • Register your own Apple ID, don’t use your personal one for liana mobile related stuff.
    • 2 ways to create an apple id without giving up a credit card:
      • 1
        • Open App Store
        • Find some free app and start installing it
        • App Store will ask you to create an account. Adding a credit card will be optional because you were downloading a free app.
      • 2
        • Register your account with the US store selected (no CC needed) and change it later to what you really want
  4. Trello account
    • Register a trello account with your lianatech email address
  5. GitHub account
    • Use your existing GitHub account or create a new one, doesn’t matter.

Services

  1. Slack

    • The most important tool of them all for us is Slack. All Liana Mobile related discussion goes on here first and on other tools second. We will migrate to Mattermost at some point.
  2. Mattermost

  3. Trello

    • See more on how we use trello
  4. GitHub

    • We develop on GitHub, also project management (coding) is managed by using issues and project boards on GitHub. More on that
